Maoist attack a lapse of security, says Ajay

SR

leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh has said that the killing of Congress leaders in an ambush by the Maoists was a serious lapse of security and he also demanded that the State Government should be immediately dismissed. Singh will visit Raipur on May 27 on a one-day trip.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Singh condemned the attack on Parivartan Yatra of Congress in Chhattisgarh as heinous and barbaric act and said that it was caused by negligence of the State Government in taking adequate security measures for the leaders. “The way party leaders have including Nandkumar Patel, Mahendra Karma, Uday Mudulia and others bravely sacrificed their lives in the cowardly Naxal attack shows that the Congress party is firmly marching ahead on the path shown by the Gandhi-Nehru family which has always sacrificed its life for achieving its goals and objectives,” Singh has stated.

He said that the party leaders who died in the ambush had played an important role in development of undivided Madhya Pradesh.

“It is shocking for all of us to know that these leaders are no more with us. It is difficult for us to overcome from the loss we have suffered,” he said.

“In a State where such incident can occur with persons who are provided with high security, the Government has no right to remain in office even for a minute. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government does not itself resign from office, it should be removed immediately,” Singh has demanded.
