In a gruesome incident, a woman in an attempt to protect the chastity of her daughter, axed her husband to death at her residence last night in the city. The incident took place at Maruti Palace Colony. According to Chandan Nagar police station in-charge, Vinod Dikshit, the accused identified as Fehmida Bi in a fit of anger axed her husband Ravi at her house when he tried to molest his stepdaughter. The accused, who was arrested by the police on the charge of killing her husband said that her husband Ravi for the past some time had been eying her daughter with sexual lust. On Tuesday night, he tried to physically molest my daughter, but I resisted his attempt. Unmindful of my resistance, he continued with his lecherous activity. In a fit of anger I went to my kitchen, made a chilly powder, water solution and poured it on him, Fehmida said adding that this hardly deterred her husband from pursuing his immoral act. Subsequently, Fehmida picked up an axe kept in the corner of the house and attacked her husband on her neck.
Though Ravi fell on the ground, he continued breathing. Fehmida said adding that she along with her daughter, sat by the side of Ravi carrying axe in her hand for almost six hours on Tuesday night fearing that he may get up and attack my daughter. However, Ravi died almost six hours after he was attacked with axe. After spending whole night with the body of her stepfather, Fehmida's daughter went to Chandan Nagar police and informed police about murder of her stepfather by her mother. Chandan Nagar police immediately swung into action, reached the incident site and arrested Fehmida on the charge of killing her husband. Chandan Nagar police station in-charge Vinod Dikshit informed that Fehmida had been living with the deceased Ravi for the past sometime along with her daughter, born of her previous husband.
On Tuesday evening, both Fehmeda and her daughter were working in the house. After sometime, Ravi arrived in the house and tried to physically molest his stepdaughter in the presence of Fehmida. Initially, Fehmida tried to resist his sexual advances, but Ravi did not relent. Subsequently, she attacked him with an axe in a fit of anger, Dikshit said adding that the deceased Ravi succumbed to his injuries after six hours as he had not been provided any medical treatment.
