Mahila Shakti Squad, incorporating Mahila Maitri team and woman police officers, would start functioning from January 22 at zone level, which would maintain strict vigil at schools, coaching classes, hostels, women market, shopping malls and sensitive areas and would spread awareness, said DIG Dharmendra Choudhary during a meeting of senior police officials of the city on Tuesday.
In his first meeting with the officials DIG gifted the police personnel from the rank of constable to Sub Inspector with two days off and the roster would be implemented from January 15.
The SHO after counting of the staff in the evening should visit walking his areas and communicate with the locals and take action against anti social elements of the area. The CSP and senior officials should also visit walking areas from time to time.
