Vibha Anand who plays the role of Subhadra, Krishna’s sister in the Mahabharata series was in the State capital here on Tuesday. While addressing the media, Vibha talked about the character she is playing and also her journey to do a mythological series.
She said, “Mahabharata is an iconic saga that will always draw in a large audience, but it’s the youngsters who are less familiar with the story and need to be excited about the show.” Elaborating further she said, “Being a youngster I also did not know much about our religion and doing Star Plus’ Mahabharata helped me a lot in bringing out my faith and also increase my knowledge about it.”
Vibha is working in a mythological series for the first time; she further shared her experience of working with other star cast as well. Talking about the show she said, “I always wanted to do some mythological show and Star Plus’ Mahabharata is one of the biggest show of the year hence I didn’t want to miss being part of this epic saga. The show will go down in the history of Indian Television because of the sheer ambition and the scale of the show. It is larger than life.”
Further, Star Plus has taken great efforts in presenting the epic in a ‘never experienced before’ avatar, mounted with never seen before scale and visuals, she added.
Notably, till now the show has generated positive feedback from the regular watchers. The entry of the grown up Pandavas has already stirred the imagination of the audience. But the older Mahabharata series has even more great influence on the old audience.
Vibha on this said, “When BR Chopra’s Mahabharata was made I was not born at that time and so I cannot say about how the actors played during that time, but I am trying hard to impress my audience.”
Combining modern technology with intense story-telling, Star Plus with Mahabharata aims to cultivate younger audiences into this legendary tale which is considered the second longest epic of the world and a poem and so most of the star cast consists of the upcoming actors in it. The special VFX effects being used for the show is the central point of the epic.
