loP questions clean chit to CM in Vyapam case

Staff Reporter

leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh has questioned the clean-chit given to the accused involved in Vyapam scam by the CBI.

He said the CBI has given clean chit to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan several times but the agency failed to consider the point that at the time of the scam, the CM of the State was Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

In a reply to a question raised in state assembly, the CM has accepted around 1000 recruitments through Vyapam were bogus.

Surprisingly, Singh said the CBI has not mentioned the names of the Director and Controller who were the main accused and were appointed in the Vyapam flouting rules and regulations.

The STF in its charge-sheet for Vyapam scam had named former CM Uma Bharti, governor house, minister 1 and 2 and M/S. Singh asked as who were these people and did CBI question the people named in the charge-sheet.

In the past two and half years, the CBI has not added a single point in the investigated handed over by the STF. Around 1200 complaints remained pending and none of them were investigated by CBI.

The accused Pankaj Trivedi who was director and controller in the year 2013 was appointed despite lacking an engineering degree and belonged to commerce stream. At the time of his arrest, Rs 1 crore was recovered from his possession and he has served jail for two and a half years and shockingly his name was not mentioned in the charge-sheet filed by CBI, Singh added.

The Supreme Court rejected 333 MBBS selections of candidates during the tenure of director and controller Sudhir Bhadoria for the period 2008 to 2010. The CBI has not quizzed or registered any case against Bhadoria.
