To oppose the killing of farmers in Mandsaur and suicide by debt ridden farmers, leader of Opposition State Assembly Ajay Singh has on Saturday declared he would not celebrate his birthday on September 23 this year and appealed his supporter, family and friends not to organise events to celebrate his birthday.
In a statement, he said that the birthday in life of every person is a special day when it is celebrated with family, friend, society, supporters, well-wishers with joyfulness.
Singh said that the day comes in his life on September 23 which is coming in the next few days but in the public life as public representative it his responsibility to take care of people during sad and joy.
Under these conditions in which on June 6 farmers were killed, suicide by more than 90 debt ridden farmers was reported; death of 30 farmers in Balaghat blast, celebrations could not be enjoyed.
In public life this day is celebrated with happiness when the friends’, family and others have atmosphere of joy but if situations are not good it is responsibility of the person to sympathies. Indian culture has tradition of humanitarian approach of social behavior during sad and joy in the life of people which unites the society.
He has appealed his friends, well-wishers, supporters and people of the region not to organise any celebration on his birthday and do not put any hoardings on his birthday.
The support from family, friends and supporters would help him in keeping his remonstration against the government with firmness.
