leader of the Oppostion in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has alleged that harassed by money lenders, the farmers are committing suicide. He asked whether this is the golden Madhya Pradesh as claimed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh, he asked.
In the last four days six farmers heavily burdened with debts have committed suicide and in the latest suicide by farmer in Satla village of Babai under Hoshangabad district has exposed false claims of the state government as it is not possible to freed the farmers from the clutches of money lenders by the government in the past 15 years which is providing loan on zero percent.
Under the BJP government which speaks of agriculture schemes, agri budget and increase in agriculture development if a farmer commits suicide after being harassed by money lender the Chief Minister should resign of embarrassment who claims himself as farmer son.
During the Congress rein cooperative organisations gained strength which saved the farmers from the trap of money lenders but in the BJP rein the structure and systems were ripped off leading to the farmers to resort to the money lenders. The ratio of farmer suicide increased with the state receiving Krishi Karman Award every year for the past few years and it seems that this achievement is either award or suicide of farmers.
