leader of the Opposition in the State assembly Ajay Singh has accused the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government for acting like Britishers in dealing with the Sardar Sarovar dam oustees and agitators.

In a statement, Singh alleged that on the one hand, the Chief Minister issues directives to senior officials for being linient towards the agitators, while on the contrary, on his directives heavy police force has been deployed there for creating panic among the dam oustees.

He further said that the way, the State Government has made preparations in Badwani and nearby submergence areas, it seems that the government is preparing for a big war against the agitators. Talking about the claims of the State Government, Singh said, “When the Government claims that 98 per cent work of rehabilitation has been completed, then why the oustees are on the roads agitating.”

Singh alleged that for protecting the interests of Gujarat State, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is cheating with his own people. “With the insensitive attitude of the State government, the oustees are forced to lead a miserable life. The figures being circulated by the government are completely false,” he added.

Meanwhile, Singh has questioned the decision of the State cabinet for not taking back the allotted land from Adani group, after it has declined to come up with power generation plant. “What is the compulsion before Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for not taking back the allotted land from Adani group. There is clear provision in the agreement that if any company fails to come up with industry, the land should be taken back,” he asked.
