Staff Reporter

Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta has registered an FIR against retired IAS Radheshyam Julania after receiving a complaint of taking around Rs 1 crore from a contractor.

Julania is accused of getting Rs 99.50 lakh deposited in his bank account from Arni Infra, a sub-contractor firm of the Water Resources Department.

The complainant has also demanded to make Radheshyam Julania, his wife Anita and daughter Lavanya  accused while handing over the evidence to the Lokayukta.

Nemichand Jain had given a complaint application in Lokayukta on August 2 that the amount to buy the land for the bungalow had been sent from different bank accounts of Arni Infra to Julania's account.

The complainant also submitted the proof of this to the Lokayukta.

Nemichand said in the complaint that in January 2021, the Enforcement Directorate team arrested Aditya Tripathi, the owner of Arni Infra.

Investigation revealed that Arni Infra is a shell company. The biggest contractor of the Water Resources Department is Raju Mentana. He gets the contract in collusion with the officials and sublets it to other companies.

Julania was posted in the Water Resources Department for a long time. Mentana was a contractor firm there, at the same time Julania's daughter Lavanya Julania was working in a company of Mentana in Hyderabad. Julania did not inform the state government about this.

On August 22, 2016, the state government removed Julania from the Water Resources Department and handed over the command to IAS Pankaj Agarwal.

Mentana company was blacklisted during the tenure of IAS Pankaj Agarwal. As soon as Mentana was blacklisted, suddenly the government removed Pankaj Aggarwal and re-posted Julania in water resources. Juliana removed Mentana from the blacklist and re-assigned the next task.

According to the allegations, Juliania continued to help Mentana and took direct or indirect benefits from him.

The complainant accused Radheshyam Julaniya of sending Rs 1 crore to son Abhimanyu abroad and demanded a probe into it. In this regard, the then IAS Ramesh Thete had lodged a complaint with the police station.
