Staff Reporter

The fire-brand Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA who in the past has lost cool on multiple occasions is under the scanner for threatening Treasury Officer Vivek Gharu at latter’s office in Patharia of Damoh district.

A video doing rounds on social media shows the MLA Rambai Singh is slamming the officer over slackness in the utilisation of MLA’s discretionary funds and security deposits saying if the officer wants money he can opt for posting somewhere else.

“If you do not leave on your own, I know how to make you leave from here, the MLA told the officer. The MLA had reportedly received the report that the officer was seeking bribe from the village sarpanchs to release government funds.

Rambai in the past has publically slammed Government officers.

In another incident, the police also booked Youth Congress leader Sanjay Yadav and another person in connection with threats issued to Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer of Vijaypur in Sheopur district. Yadav is the nephew of Animal Husbandry minister Lakhan Singh Yadav.

Audio clips of the conversation went viral on Whatsapp on Tuesday. The CEO had complained to police of receiving life threats by Sanjay Yadav and his associate over non-resumption of one civil work in the janpad panchayat area. The work was earlier stopped over financial irregularities.

The loud mouth youth leader was captured in media cameras while he was explaining his clout at police station.

Reacting to the incident, the minister uncle claimed that his nephew is a responsible leader of Youth Congress and stated that the government officer must have done something unusual so the youngster lost his cool. I would speak to my nephew on the matter, he added.

Commenting on such incidents, BJP spokesperson Ranjneesh Agrawal alleged that Congress MLAs and ministers till now were treating the government as their private limited company and now their kin are threatening officers and assaulting government staffers.

The Congress party must not forget that power is a means to serve the public and if they try to unleash terror, public would not spend much time in showing them their actual worth, said Agrawal.
