left front set to propose alternative platform

Four left parties - Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (CPI), Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) and Communist Party of India (Marxist-leninist)  - will organise a rally here on Tuesday to declare an alternative policy to counter the present political scenario.

Addressing a joint press meet here on Sunday, CPI (M) state Joint Secretary Badal Saroj said “Since people have disenchanted with both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress and other political parties, the left parties feel that time has come to create an alternative platform and chalk out a policy to launch an agitation against corruption and other burning issues.”

Saroj further said the political situation would turn out to be more volatile in coming two to three years and it would be out of control and creation of an alternative policy is the only way to counter the situation. Expressing concern over the unbridled corruption in the BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh, the Communist leader said after exposure of the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or Vyapam scam, Governor Ram Naresh Yadav and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should tender their resignations without further delay. After the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) disclosure before the Supreme Court that the state regime was not cooperating into the probe, the situation became serious.

“This is not good sign at all,” Saroj said, while adding that the corruption has been deep rooted in the state and the MPPEB or DMAT scams are only the tip of the ice berg.

He said the CBI  investigating into the scam should be given free hand and the state regime should provide all details related to the scams. National leaders such as CPI (M) Polit Bureau Member and former MP Subhashini Ali, CPI Executive Committee Member and ex MP Aziz Pasha and SUCI (C) Central Committee Member Satyawan would address the rally.
