lawyers will play imp role to dethrone BJP: Mittal

SR

Alleging that the ruling Bharatitya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the State has failed at all fronts, Congress legal and Human Rights Cell General Secretary KC Mittal on Sunday claimed that lawyers would play an important role to dethrone the BJP regime in the coming Assembly elections.

“The lawyers in Madhya Pradesh and other States will expose the BJP Governments through Right to Information Act and apprised the people about the ‘misrule’ in the BJP-ruled States,” Mittal told.

He was in the State capital to participate in the divisional convention of the legal cell of the party. The members of the cell resolved during the convention that they would work to oust the BJP Government of the State.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the State, Mittal said women and girls are not secured and incidents of rape and gang-rape are taking place every day.

“If the Government fails to provide adequate security to women and girls, it has no right to continue. This regime also failed to stop atrocities on women and tribals,” he pointed out.

Mittal alleged that rampant corruption is taking place in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREG) in Madhya Pradesh and the State regime is misusing the Central funds.

Mittal, who also undertook visit in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, said that the lawyers of Madhya Pradesh will launch a State-wide agitation soon against the ruling the BJP Government.

Earlier in the day, Mittal was accorded warm welcome by the cell office bearers and members of the State and district that was followed by the welcome address by the State president of the cell Vijay Chowdhry who also revealed the outline of the convention. The divisional convention of the cell was also held in Indore on Sunday.
