labour welfare schemes in the state will be chalked out in consultation with labourers. As per wish of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a meeting of all labour Department’s district officers has been convened on Monday in the context of expansion and effective implementation of labour welfare schemes. At the meeting, feedback will be sought from field officers to discuss strategy.
This was stated by labour, Backward Classes, Minorities, Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes’ Welfare Antar Singh Arya here on Sunday. At the meeting of Madhya Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board held at the Minister’s residence, over Rs. 6 lakh cheques were given away to 54 registered labourers under various schemes.

To overcome this problem, state government has opened 120 ashrams. The children staying at these hostels imbibe education in nearby schools. He informed that 20 more ashrams will be opened from next academic session. Besides, work to identify families of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic tribes is also being taken up.
