KK Mishra's comment creates flutter in Govt

Girish Sharma

The Pess conference conducted by the chief spokesman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, KK Mishra on Saturday created flutters in the State government.

When Mishra convened the Press conference cornering the Chief Minister, the news was published in both national and State media. This was probably the first time when Mishra achieved such a height.

Mishra is the same Congress leader who was sacked by the previous Pradesh Congress Committee president Kantilal Bhuria with several allegations, including that he was one of the recipients of the pension instituted by the State Government for Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA).

The way Mishra was sacked from the party, in the similar dramatic way, he was brought back by the present PCC Chief Arun Yadav only after the assembly elections were over in Madhya Pradesh by December, 2013. However, before the lok Sabha elections, he failed make any concrete attack on the saffron government.

With this height achieved by Mishra, not only the ruling party leaders, but the leaders of his own party are facing problems. In the past two tenures of the BJP,  it has been difficult for all the Congress leaders including former leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh to corner the government.

Earlier, Ajay Singh had attempted to corner the Chief Minister stating that he and his wife are in possession of a franking machine at their residence. After the Chief Minister served a legal notice to him, Singh denied having said anything that was published in newspapers. A defamation case is still pending in court.

leader of Opposition in the State assembly Satyadev Katare has been making efforts in this regard for the past six months, after his appointment, but failed to cause any damage to the government.

Political observers feel that by raising the issue of MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam afresh, Mishra has helped the Congress party come alive after it was totally demolished in the recently held lok Sabha elections.
