Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was breaching poll code on daily basis.
“Look at his language, what kind of language he was using,” said Nath while speaking to the media on completion of one year as MPCC president. Have you seen any Prime Minister in the world, what kind of standard he was trying to set, asked Nath. “He is facing charges daily of model election code violations daily,” said the MP Chief Minister.
Nath’s remarks came hours ahead of PM Modi’s election rally in Itarsi in Madhya Pradesh. The two senior leaders are engaged in verbal spat ever since the Income Tax Dept raided several establishments including those of several of Nath’s close aides following which the MP Chief Minister had accused the Centre of trying to destablise his Government. PM Modi during his election rally in Sidhi had hit back saying Naamdar (Rahul Gandhi) and his courtiers (Kamal Nath) won’t be spared on corruption. The Prime Minister also had accused rampant corruption in Congress rule alleging sacks full of currency notes were recovered in Madhya Pradesh. Nath had also hit back asking the source of money through which Rs BJP built ‘Rs 1,000 cr’ for party headquarters in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Nath on Wednesday thanked the public to have given him a chance to serve the state saying the Congress Government tried to offer glimpses of party policy and intentions in the 75 days till the time model election code was imposed.
He claimed by fielding Pragya Thakur, the BJP has exhibited its jitters. In Bhopal, which the BJP calls its bastion, the party is trying to convey which message by fielding Pragya Thakur.
“The BJP was trying to divide the society and was fuelling tension with inflammatory speeches,” alleged Nath.
This was not a good sign for the democracy. The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of not offering account of its five rule in the state and 15 years of governance in Madhya Pradesh.
