On the directives of Election Commission of India, Joint Director (Finance) Sanjay Kumar has been appointed nodal officer for supervision and accounting of election expenses during Vidhan Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.
Sanjay Kumar will undertake monitoring from a special cell at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer daily Mainly, Sanjay Kumar coordinates with enforcement agencies for expenses monitoring apart from monitoring complaints regarding expenses, cash, liquor, arms etc.
He will also review reports received from excise, income tax departments and Airport Authority. Meanwhile, on the directives of Election Commission of India, a control room is functioning 24X7 at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Its telephone number is 0755-2551947.
One dozen officers and employees have been deployed at the control room who are working in various shifts. Apart from instructions from senior officers of CEO office, the control room is also dealing with correspondence with districts and action is being taken on them. Two Assistant Chief Electoral Officers Govind lachhani (9329970558) and Ramnath Singh (999363319) and Assistant Superintendent land Records Tanvir Haleem (9826087575) have also posted at the control room.
Besides, trucks, jeeps, buses and other vehicles will be required during ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. For this, directives have been given to all district election officers and collectors to ensure proper arrangement for petrol and diesel in adequate quantity.
District collectors have also been asked to assess stock position and future demand. Instructions have been given to arrange petrol and diesel in adequate quantity at the places in the state where petrol pumps do not exist.
