JP Hosp nurse alleges sexual harassment by steward

Staff Reporter

A female nurse of the Government JP Hospital has alleged sexual harassment against a steward of the same hospital, TS Mishra. However, Mishra has termed the allegations baseless.

The woman has threatened self-immolation if no action has been taken against Mishra.

While speaking with the media persons here on Friday, the victim Meenu Patsariya alleged that she has been sexually harassed by TS Mishra on May 12, 2016. She accepted that the hospital management had also formed an investigation committee to investigate the issue but the panel supported Mishra.

Patsariya told that she has lodged complaints regarding the incident to the Jai Prakash Hospital’s Civil Surgeon IK Chugh, CM helpline, MP State Woman Commission, Bhopal Collector, Health Minister and the Additional Director General of Police (Crime Against Women), but no action has been taken against TS Mishra.

She demanded that Mishra should be suspended as he is affecting the investigation against him. An FIR should be registered against Mishra and the administration should direct the Habibganj police to take action against him. “I will end my life, if the demands are not fulfilled within a week,” she warned.

On the contrary, while talking to The Pioneer, Mishra said, “These allegations are baseless. Meenu Patsariya is trying to ruin his image in the hospital. I was admitted in the JP Hospital on May 12, 2016 as I had kidney stone problems, so how can I commit crime on the same day.”

Giving reasons behind his being implicated in this case by the woman, Mishra further said that he had caught Patsariya taking bribe from the patients in the delivery ward few months back. Patsariya was trying to ruin his image in the hospital since she was caught red-handed, he alleged.
