Jehangirabad police have booked a miscreant for attacking a 16-year-old youth at Barkhedi late in the night on Wednesday; accused remained absconding after the attack.
According to the police the victim Rithik alias Golu Yadav was attacked by Brijesh Kanhaiya Daande with sharp-edged weapons while he was on his way home in the night after visiting Durga pandals. The injured victims was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is reportedly critical.
The victim in his complaint has stated that when he was on his way to home he stopped near an electricity pole and while he was standing accused came and started to abuse him and when victim opposed abusing him he was attacked by the accused with a sharp edged weapon and stabbed him in his stomach and escaped the spot.
In the initial investigation police found that the two were not acquainted but the reason of the attack remained was not clear and would be investigated.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Police said details of the accused have been searched and family members and friends of the accused have been questioned to find the whereabouts of the absconding accused.
In the initial investigation police found that the accused was involved in molesting and teasing in the past. The victim was walking towards his house and as he was tired he stopped near electricity pole.
