Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday held discussions over demonetization with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State office-bearers, spokespersons and media in-charge through video-conferencing.
Jaitley told party position holders that demonetization would result in multi-dimensional and long-term benefits after completion of its cycle. Interest rate of banks would come down due to increase in liquid money.
The Government is alert over the needs of the farmers and besides seeds and fertilizers it is considering providing more facilities for other activities to the farming community, he added.
Jaitley said, “Demonetization has directly attacked the black money and the subversive activities have been controlled effectively.”
He called on the common man to keep patience and courage as after the position gets normal the economy would become stronger and would come on right track, replacing 86 per cent of the currency in circulation with new bank notes could not have been executed in a better way than currently being implemented, he added.
He said the move will help banks lend at a cheaper rate to businesses, trade, agriculture and infrastructure while at the same time getting rid of the shadow economy.
Questions pertaining to the State were also included in this discussion.
Those who hold discussion with the finance minister through video conferencing include State vice president Vijesh lunawat, State vice president and MlA Rameshwar Sharma, chief spokesman for state Dipak Vijayvargiya, state spokespersons Rajo Malviya, Umesh Sharma and Hidayatullah Sheikh, state co-media in-charge Sanjay Govind Khoche, Sarvesh Tiwari, Vikas Bondriya and Shivraj Dabi.
