With the city recording 45 degree Celsius it looked like a shutdown across the city as very few people chose to move out of their houses braving the scorching heat.

Heat wave conditions gripped the whole State and the Met department has claimed that harsh conditions would worsen in the next few days and there is little hope of relief in the next 4-5 days from the sweltering heat.

Met department officials said that these are normal pre-monsoon activities in which intense heat and hot and humid conditions are normal pattern. The clouding which was witnessed on Tuesday evening would be witnessed on Wednesday also which would bring the temperature slightly lower. The temperatures are not going to reach extreme levels of 47-48 degree Celsius as the clouding would decrease the temperature.
