Illegally parked vehicles cleared

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday removed unauthorised structures and seized street-side items from roads, footpaths and public areas, following complaints from citizens and routine anti-encroachment inspections.

Teams acted in several areas, including MP Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Bairagarh, New Market, Jehangirabad, and near the AIIMS Hospital gates. Illegally placed kiosks, sheds, staircases, carts and construction slabs were dismantled.

In Nehru Nagar, two iron grilles placed outside homes were removed. In Bairagarh, 12 four-wheelers illegally parked near Sadhu Vaswani School and LBS Hospital Road were cleared from the streets.

Auto dealers had illegally parked 15 vehicles near Lily Talkies in Jehangirabad. An illegal staircase and slab were taken down near Aura Mall. Four sheds were removed from shopfronts in Indrapuri.

Officials also seized six carts, a table, two chairs, six plastic crates, iron stands, broken wooden boxes and mesh panels from various neighbourhoods during the course of the action.

The municipal teams issued warnings to those involved, advising them not to re-encroach. Repeat violations, they said, would invite stricter enforcement and tougher penalties.
