The World Cup fever overshadowed the craze for Raahgiri Day among the Bhopalites. Notably, the crowd at Raahgiri Day was not noticed at Boat Club and Shahpura lake on Sunday as most of the citizens were busy watching the cricket match between India and Pakistan in ICC World Cup. Till last Sunday, a huge crowd could be noticed at the Raahgiri Day to enjoy various physical activities, but this Sunday only 10 per cent of the enthusiasts could be noticed taking the pleasure of activities like cycling, yoga and much more.
With the view to promote public transport and better traffic security measures and health among the Bhopalites, the Raahgiri Day is being organised every Sunday at Boat Club by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Notably, the Rahgiri Day is being observed to not only to aware the Bhopalites about traffic security measures, but also to inform them about being healthy. So various activities were organised with which people can also taste the fun along with the physical exercise.
The citizens are asked to cycle, walk, jog and skate there. Further, for a mass awareness programme about health yoga, aerobic, zumba and games like cricket, kho-kho and other body lifting activities were also being organised. Moreover, Tug of War was also played this Sunday. Meanwhile, there was not much crowd at Bhoj Adventure Fest, though various competitions were organised on Sunday in the fest. Under the donga race organised at Boat club, four women teams and 20 men teams participated.
Other than these competitions, various activities like balloon, para sailing, para motoring, bungee jumping, water surfing, tracking, rowing, canoeing, rock climbing, rappelling, banana ride, rifle shooting, cycling, and many more were also organised at Kaliyasot Dam. At the Bhoj Adventure Fest, Collector Nishant Warwade, BMC Commissioner Tejaswi S Naik, Chief Secretary MPSTDC Antony De Sa and others were present.
