Suspecting illicit relationship, a 34-year old woman was beaten to death by her husband at PC Nagar under Habibganj police station area late on Wednesday night. Police sources said that Shivdeen, husband of the deceased, reached house on Wednesday in an inebriated state at night and started fighting with his wife, which soon turned physical after he started beating her with a stick. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information, a police team reached the spot and after preliminary investigation, sent the body for the post-mortem.
During the investigation, the police found that the deceased Geeta’s husband Shivdeen had beaten her brutally, which proved fatal. later, the police successfully arrested the accused. The deceased is survived by three daughters. The daughters- Aarti, Sunainya and Ramjanaki told the police that their father had last night reached home heavily drunk and started beating their mother and later fled the house.
The accused used to work as a helper in a hotel and used to spend most of the part of his income on liquor. The neighbours of the deceased told the police that the couple used to fight a lot and the reason behind the fight was the suspicion of the accused over Geeta’s character. On Wednesday, the same occurred, but the fight proved fatal for the victim.
The accused used to fight with the deceased frequently and would beat her. The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
