Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has on Saturday recommended immediate arrest of the accused in a murder case at the Gwalior’s Maharajpura police station area.
Applicant Ashok Kumar Shakya, brother of the deceased has complained to the Commission regarding the arrest of the accused of the murder. The absconding accused persons are also threatening applicant.
The Commission had sought report from the Gwalior SP regarding the case. SP told the Commission that the murder case was registered under section 323, 325, 34 and 302 of the IPC. Officials have announced the reward of Rs 5,000 on the absconding criminals. Commission has recommended that the absconding criminals should be arrested immediately and the Gwalior Inspector General (IG) should provide the guidance to the officials regarding the arrest of the criminals.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Commission has stated that instead of getting indulged in conflicts over jurisdiction (precinct) of the police stations, the police officials should take action.
In this incident, Narayan of Guna’s Raghogarh had forcibly captivated lakhan Singh, the son of Amar Singh, and made him to work in his house. Somehow, the boy escaped a year later and came back to his father, Amar Singh. Singh complained about this incident to the Ashoknagar SP, Guna SP and to the police outpost, Janjani but police officials took no action on the complaint.
Commission found that lakhan is mentally weak. He was kidnapped and made a bonded labor.
However, the police officials of Ashonagar and Guna took no action on the issue, stating this not out of their jurisdiction.
Commission has recommended that the compensation of Rs 20,000 should be provided to the applicant under section 18a (1) human rights preservation act 1993.
