House of a wholesale trader was targeted by miscreants who made away with valuables of Rs 8 lakh in Mayur Vihar Colony under Ashoka Garden police station area late on Sunday night. According to the police, on Sunday when the victim Mukhdi Chand returned house he found that the house was ransacked and valuables were missing.

Notably, the victim along with his family was out for a couple of hours and during the short duration the miscreants burgled the house and fled away the valuables. The miscreants escaped with valuables within two hours, this suggests that the house was targeted and proper planning was done before committing the crime and it could only be done in case of tip off provided by some one insider, said the police.

In the complaint the victim has claimed that he along with his family had gone to attend a marriage in Karond area at around 9.30 pm and when they returned at around midnight they found that the locks were broken and the house was ransacked. The almirah where the valuables were kept was found open. The victim found that Rs 2 lakh cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 6 lakh were missing.

The victim raised suspicion over his employees as it is possible that the employees might have provided the information intentionally or inadvertently to some outsider that might have helped the miscreants. Victim is a wholesale trader of grocery goods.

Based on the information employees and neighbor of the victim would be questioned. The police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
