Aiming building awareness amongst doctors, counsellors and social workers about effective treatment options for alcohol and drug addiction, the Hyderabad-based Hope Trust is conducting a daylong seminar free of cost at Courtyard Marriot on Sunday.

Since, the trust has been getting a significant number of clients from Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, therapists have come here to interact and provide solutions to families affected by addiction.

While talking to media persons here on Saturday, founder Director of the Hope Trust Rahul luther said, “Addiction is perhaps the most devastating problem – it kills the addict and destroys the family. It is also bewildering: the family affected by alcohol or drug addiction desperately seeks help, but does not usually know where to go.”

Since, addiction affects all areas of the addict’s life, he told that the treatment at Hope Trust is holistic, addressing the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual aspects. The programme incorporates the WHO-approved ‘12 Steps’ and is based on the renowned Minnesota model.

luther further informed that the recovery of the addict is enhanced by Yoga and meditation. There is competent medical and psychiatric back up. The staff includes experienced addiction therapists, psychologist, psychiatrist and Yoga teachers. Hope Trust’s unique model includes strong program for families who are also greatly affected by addiction in the family.

“Hope Trust is a pioneer in the field and has helped hundreds from all over the world of families struggling with addiction for over a decade,” added Rajeshwari luther, Director and Head of Family Interventions Division, Hope Trust.
