Health department fails to check dengue, chikungunya

PNS

Health department has failed to control various diseases such as dengue, Chikungunya and other seasonal diseases. The number of the patients of the swine flu is rising in the city.

Health department has made no proper arrangements in order to prevent these viral diseases. It is difficult to understand as how the health department will save the patients from Swine flu, which is a fatal disease and any other seasonal diseases.

According to the statistics, as many as 950 samples were collected for dengue in the year 2014 and around 161 samples were found positive while around 2486 samples were collected in the year and around 464 samples were found positive. As many as 266 samples of dengue were collected this year and around 470 cases of dengue have been confirmed.

Health department has been very active in controlling the diseases only on the papers while the patients are suffering from these fatal diseases.

The State administration has clearly instructed the officials to implement the anti-larva action plan in the area where the patients of the dengue or chikungunya live.

Around 120 workers have been deployed to implement the anti larva action plan by the Health department but these workers are not taking the job seriously and performing their duties in a casual way. The aphaeresis machine is available but it has never been used. Surprising, the numbers of patients are increasing day by day.

District hospital’s Swine flu ward is nothing but a normal ward of two beds only. Civil Surgeon and CMHO of JA hospital have stated that all the samples were tested in the hospital labs but the truth is very different as the patients claimed that they have to go to the other pathology labs of the city for the tests.

The government has instructed that Swine flu ward should be separated from the other wards but reputed Jaya Arogya hospital of the city has violated the instructions of the government.
