PNS

The Madhya Pradesh High Court in an order passed here on Monday gave permission to the government to terminate the services of guest faculties serving in various government schools of the state and invite online applications for future appointments.

In its order, the High Court has observed that the appointment of the guest faculties was on ad-hoc basis and that the government has the right to appoint new teachers.

The issue of guest teachers had put the government in a fix as earlier the High Court had given a stay on the government’s move to start the recruitment process for new teachers and removal of existing guest teachers.  However in its final order today on the issue the High Court gave permission to the government to go ahead with its plans.

Following the High Court’s order the Education Department has written to all District Education Officers and Principals to adhere to the court’s order. It is learnt that the services of the existing guest teachers will be terminated with immediate effect.

Sources in the Education Department said that new appointments for teachers will be done only on the basis of the online process that was initiated in last July. They added that the guest faculties whose services will be terminated are also eligible to submit their applications.
