Haji Inayat Hussain Qureshi was on Thursday unanimously elected as the new chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee (MPSHC).

MPSHC secretary and chief executive officer in a statement informed that the Managing Director – MP Fisheries Federation UK Subudhi was shouldered with the responsibility of conducting MPSHC elections as election officer. The election was scheduled to be held at the fisheries federation office at Bhadbhada from 11 am.

Sources from the BJP informed that there were two strong claimants for the post, Indore resident Haji Inayat Hussain Qureshi and Gwalior’s Shiraz Qureshi. Both the claimants were lobbying in the party to get the post but the final decision came after all the eleven members of the MPSHC reached BJP state office in the morning where while having tea with the State president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan name of Haji Inayat Hussain Qureshi was finalized and the election remained a mere formality.

Sources within the BJP informed that the State minority cell in-charge and senior party leader Vijendra Singh Sisodia played important role in making everyone agree to a unanimous decision and it was due to his personal interest that the name of Inayat Qureshi was finalized as the new chairman of the MPSHC.

Inayat Qureshi then reached the Fisheries Federation office where the election was supposed to take place and informed the election officer of the party decision and filed his nomination. As he was the only person who filed nomination the election officer announced him elected unopposed and he was formally named as the new MPSHC chairman. Soon afterwards Inayat Qureshi along with other members of the committee and BJP state minorities cell president Hidayatullah Sheikh reached the  MPSHC office in walled city and took charge of his new responsibility.
