Paying tributes to Shaheed Jawans on Police Commemoration Day at lal Parade Ground here on Tuesday, Governor Ram Naresh Yadav said that police were doing commendable work to maintain proper law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh.
It’s due to their sheer activeness and effective action that investigations have been completed at a rapid pace and culprits punished. Sometimes, police officers and employees make the supreme sacrifice during such actions. The State Government was making every possible effort for welfare of families of Shaheeds, he added.
Home Minister Babulal Gaur, lokayukta PP Naolekar, Human Rights Commission’s working Chairman VM Kanwar, Information Commissioner Sukhraj Singh, DGP Surendra Sinh and Principal Secretary Home BP Singh were present on the occasion.
The Governor and guests offered wreaths at Shaheed Smarak and paid tributes to Shaheed police officers and jawans.
Governor Yadav said that peace, harmony and brotherhood in society would pave way for all-round development and further advised them that they should work keeping this in view.
Yadav called upon the people to cooperate with police in maintaining peace and law and order. The Governor said that a State-level women’s helpline service was functioning efficiently to control
crimes against women.
Paying tributes to martyr police personnel, Home Minister Gaur remembered their services to the State and said menace of dacoity has been eradicated in the State. Naxal activities were negligible. Police personnel deserve praise for this. Gaur said that police personnel should increase professional expertise for prevention and control over cyber crimes and crimes against women.
He exhorted the police personnel to maintain their efficacy and credibility.
DGP Surendra Sinh said that we have lost four of our colleagues during last one year while they were discharging their duties. He said that law and order situation in the state is strong. Madhya Pradesh police is committed to ensuring peace, law & order and maintaining atmosphere for development.
A condolence parade was also taken out on the occasion. Salute was given to Shaheed Smarak. Governor Yadav met family members of Shaheeds.
