SR

To help the poor and underprivileged avail the benefits of government schemes, Governor Anandiben Patel told the groups of non-governmental organisations and women self-help groups to extend support in taking the schemes to the poor and the underprivileged in Balaghat today.

The Governor heard the experiences of the women self-help groups and appreciated their work. District Panchayat President Rekha Bisen was present on the occasion.

Patel told them to work for the elimination of Tuberculosis from the district.

The treatment of the illness is possible. She said that all sections of the society should extend support and help in treating children suffering from TB.

Sharing their experiences, the women told the Governor that at first they were hesitant to go to the bank.

But ever since they connected with the Livelihood Mission, they have become more confident.

Now they deposit an amount of Rs 25 in the group account every month.

If need arises, the women members can take a loan from the group account on 2 per cent interest.

With this their group has become more or less a bank for them.

Now the group has a collection of a huge amount.
