Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has exhorted administrative officers to give a patient hearing to people’s grievances and redress them with sensitiveness. He said young officers should inculcate the habit of learning constantly.

The Governor said that society has great expectations from young public servants and they should try to live up to these expectations. Yadav was addressing 15 probationary IAS officers of 2012 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre at Raj Bhavan here on Friday. The training is being imparted at the Academy of Administration and Management here. It began on July 1, 2013 and will conclude on August 3, 2013.

The Governor advised the probationary officers that good governance can be ensured only through prompt decisions and compliance with rules. He asked them to hold direct dialogue with masses and take firm decisions in public interest.

He exhorted them to inculcate virtues of morality, honesty, high character and hard work and added that delayed good measures make no impact. Therefore, time-bound implementation of decisions should be ensured. Terming young officers as administration’s face at field-level, he said that their style of functioning forms image of government and administration.

The Governor also gave answers to questions put up by the officers. Proceedings were conducted by Joint Director, Academy of Administration Pragya Awasthi. Principal Secretary to Governor Vinod Semwal, Academy’s Director Rakesh Agrawal and Course Director Prof Pramod Chaturvedi were present on the occasion. Neeraj Singh proposed a vote of thanks.
