Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Minister Gopal Bhargava on Thursday informed the Assembly that the Government is considering scrapping Jan and Aam Aadmi insurance schemes and incorporating them in three insurance schemes Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna launched the Centre recently.
Raising the issue of apathy in the proper implementation of the two schemes in janpad panchayats during the Question Hour, Parul Sahu of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pointed out that people are unable to derive benefit from the schemes. She said several people had not been able to present their claims in the absence of information and sought to know whether the regime would take any step to provide benefit to them.
In his reply, Bhargava admitted that very few people had benefited from these schemes although a large number of people paid the premium. Therefore, the dispensation is considering incorporating them in the new schemes. He said he would direct the officials concerned in districts to send all pending cases since the past two years to the company.
