From Panchayat to Collectorate, all the Government offices remained closed, following strike by 35 Government employees associations against the alleged increasing attacks and threats to them.

Employees of all the tehsils, Janpad and district headquarters gathered at their respective headquarters and took out rallies, held meetings and handed over memorandum addressed to Chief Minister to the district collectors. MP Administrative Service Association (MPASA) in a statement informed that during the past 20 years, over 15,000 cases of fracas and manhandling with the Government employees has taken place.

No one has been punished in the cases registered for obstruction in Government work. That is why the striking employees’ community is demanding strict law so that they could work with dignity. Their demands include fast track courts for disposal of the cases pertaining to misbehaviour with the Government employees, constitution of district level committees to review the progress of cases running in the courts pertaining to misbehaviour with the Government employees. The MPASA said that we have taken one-day casual leave (Cl) and the essential services have been kept out of the strike.
