Govt may not hold discussion in House: Ajay

Staff Reporter

leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh fears that the BJP Government of the State has conspired not to hold discussion over the no confidence motion brought by the Opposition.

Singh expressed fear in a statement after proceedings of the House here on Wednesday. “The way proceedings of the House were completed on Wednesday, it suggests that the Government has conspired not to hold discussion on the no confidence motion scheduled to be discussed in the House on Thursday.”

Singh further said that never in the history of the State such a Government is seen that fears  the Opposition so much. “The Chief Minister and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister have always leveled false allegations on the Opposition that it does not allow the House to carry out its business that is why House has to be adjourned. The fact is that the Opposition never wants that the proceedings of the House should come to an end prior to its schedule. Because it has the platform from where it could expose the black deeds of the Government besides raising public interest issues,” Singh added.

He said that the Governor has issued notification that the House would run from July 8, to 19. But the agenda set for July 10, includes 12 legislations besides Supplementary Budget and introduction of 5 legislations. Taking so much of work in a day means that the intents of the Government are not clear and it does not wish to run the house till July 19, he added.

He said that the Opposition has asked the House that when the House is scheduled to run till July 19, than why so much of work is being carried out in a single day.
