launching a scathing attack on the BJP Government, senior Congress leader laxman Singh on Wednesday alleged that although the Madhya Pradesh Government was making tall claims about the Atal Jyoti Abhiyan being implemented in the rural areas of the State, the reality was far from it.
“These days a lot of claims are being made about the success of the Atal Jyoti Abhiyan that aims to provide 24x7 power supply in rural areas. However, the reality is quite different from what is being claimed by the Government,” said the former MP at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office.
laxman, younger brother of former chief minister Digvijay Singh, further said, “The poles erected under the scheme in Hoshangabad, Mandsaur and Neemuch districts were uprooted in the recent rains and storm, which reflects the quality of work by the concerned authorities.”
He wondered as why Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not bother to reply to the letters written by Opposition on various issues in the state.
“The Chief Minister did not reply to the letters written by the Opposition party leaders, including Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on many issues concerning the state,” he said.
Terming the law and order situation in the state as “poor”, laxman said, “The figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau show that the state tops in rape cases in the entire country, which is very shameful. It also suggests that the State government has completely failed in providing security to the fair sex in the State.”
He further alleged that the BJP Government has lost confidence of the people in past nine years. Whatever it says, never did. There is a major difference in its saying and doing. People have now come to know the reality of the government, he added.
He stated that the Congress is raising the corruption of the State government in the ongoing parivartan yatras and charge-sheet against the government is being
prepared at district level by receiving feedback from common people, he told.
