Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) has alleged that democracy has been deferred and the Constitution has been let off hook in Madhya Pradesh.
CPI-M central committee member and State secretary Badal Saroj in a statement here on Sunday said, “Now even the hardcore supporters of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have started accepting that he could go to any extent for benefiting JP group.” Saroj further said, “Be it the case of providing ownership rights of joint region coal mine to JP or giving him thousands of acres of agriculture land or green forests land to JP at throw away prices the Madhya Pradesh Government is round the clock ready for doing it.”
Saroj said that given a look at the decisions of Cabinet meetings during the tenure of Chouhan it was found that in every second meeting a decision to benefit the JP was taken. He said that now the BJP Government has crossed all the limits for benefiting this industrial house in the State and in the process has reached to the extent of deferring the democracy by violating the fundamental rights of the constitution. Having failed to crush the agitation against the industrial house in Rewa during the past seven years the State Government has now started issuing externment orders of the leading leaders of the agitation.
All these leaders were respected citizens of their respective areas and no one had been reported in any criminal case. Their only crime was that they were opposing the illegal actions of the JP and State Government, he added The senior Communist leader said that the CPI M considers it as a serious situation and has called for Statewide demonstrations on September 22 and called on other political parties of the state to extend support to this agitation.
