Gold and silver jewelry worth lakhs of rupees were burgled from Saeed Nagar under Nishatpura police station area on Sunday.
According to Nishatpura police the victim Shashi Kumar along with his family had gone for prayers on the eve of Christmas and when he returned later in the night the locks were found broken and house was ransacked. The victim lodged a complaint with the police and in the complain he stated that he had gone for prayers in the evening and when he returned at around 3 in the night the locks were found broken and when he entered the valuables were found burgled.
In the complaint victim claimed that one gold chain, two pairs of gold bangles, one pair of ear rings, two gold bracelets and one pair silver anklet.
The total loss in the burglary was not provided by the victim and he told the police that the loss would be provided later after checking the valuables. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.Police said that the neighbours have expressed ignorance over the burglary.
The miscreants were aware of the whereabouts of the victim as the burglary took place within a short period of time. The miscreants were hinted by someone acquainted which would be investigated. The victim suspects that the neighbors have directly or indirectly provided the details of the valuables to the miscreants.
