Gwalior Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anay Dwivedi has informed that this time the corporation has collected the revenue more than last year and for new financial year, it has set the target of `100 crore.
“To achieve the target, we will start monitoring from the April month. In city we will collect the property tax from the illegal colonies and we will have separate slip for this so that we can identify the illegal colonies. We have already prepared the work plan and it will execute in the month of April,” said Dwivedi, adding that it is prime concern to generate the revenue and if the corporation did not increase the revenue then it is not possible for us to complete the plans for the development.
He further said, “We have to achieve the target of 100 crore rupees of property tax and for that it has the monthly target as well. At every quarter 25rores would be the target and by the December month we have to cross 75crores rupees figure and in this direction we will give all positive efforts and also we will take the help of technology.”
While talking to media persons, Dwivedi informed that before rainy season, we will clean the 280 drains and for this action, we have made the plan. The drains will be clean in three ways first Municipal workers will clean the drains, secondly some drains will be cleaned by JCB machines and thirdly where the Municipal workers are unable to clean then we will give the tender. We will purchase 10 JCB machines more so that the total figure of JCB machines would be 26 JCB machines and they will be parked at every ward office.
