In a gruesome incident in the State Capital, a man killed his 8-year old daughter by throwing her in a well after a fight with his wife in Karhaiya Shah village under Berasia police station, on Sunday.
The 32-year old man was arrested, said SP Arvind Saxena, Bhopal (North). In the initial investigation it was found that after having a fight with his wife he pushed his daughter, Anajli Meena, into the well, the police said. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
Investigating Officer SI Bala Singh said that the accused often used to beat his wife over petty issues and on Sunday he had a fight over delay in providing lunch after which he pushed his daughter into the well.
After preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC against the accused father and have started further investigation.
Police said that the accused is heavily addicted to liquor and used to spend a lot on liquor which was one of the reasons of fights in the family.
