Depressed over prolonged illness, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at her residence in Hajjampura village under Gunga police station area on Monday.
According to the police, the deceased Rita Singh was found hanging and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation. Family members were at work when the deceased committed suicide and they came to know after they returned from work. In the initial investigation family members told the police that the deceased was suffering from prolong illness and used to remain depressed over her illness.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile a 12-year-old boy drowned at Gayatri Nagar under Ashoka Garden police station area on Monday, deceased drowned at a ditch while taking bath. The deceased Rithik Das left the house in the afternoon without informing his parents but when he not returned till late in the evening family members started to find him and later found in a ditch.
Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. During the investigation police found that the deceased drowned as he was skilled in swimming.
