A conference to chart out a strategy against growing fundamentalism will be held here on Thursday by the Jamiat Ulama-Hind (JUH), MP. Talking to reporters, JUH MP president Haji Mohammad Haroon said, “The conference, which will be graced by JUH general secretary Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, will lay out a blue-print to fight communal forces that are spreading hatred against minorities.”He said the minorities wereunder threat due to growing fundamentalism that needs to be checked. It was enough now.
He said delegates from across country, especially from UP and Maharashtra, would take part in the conference. Many delegates had already arrived to take part in the event. JUH president said they had invited religious heads from Buddhist, Jain and other communities and added that they wanted a tough action against fundamentalists and such groups spreading and dividing the society. “We want that they should be jailed. They don’t have a place in a civilised society.”
“These people are not only the enemy of society, but also of the nation. If communal disharmony prevails, development will take a back seat,” he added. He said JUH had fought Britishers during pre-independence era. “We have also opposed the partition of India. Now we are going to wage a war against fundamental forces to keep the country united,” he added.
