Four miscreants who were planning burglary were nabbed near Bharat talkies over bridge under Mangalwara police station area on Friday; three sharp edged weapons and an iron rod was recovered from their possession.
According to the police acting on a tip-off, four miscreants were nabbed in the afternoon on Friday and weapons and tools used to break locks were recovered from their possession.
The nabbed miscreants were identified as Akash Singh (26), Sanjay Sharma (22), Gufran (26) and Rahul Singh Rajput (42).
SHO of Mangalwara police station Neeraj Verma said Rahul Rajput has been booked under several cases of burglary in the past and was the main accused in the gang nabbed. At the moment it is not possible to provide the number of crimes committed by the gang and would be searched in the investigation.
Iron rod used for breaking the locks, was recovered from the miscreants. This suggests that they were planning burglary. The four have been involved in minor crimes and are not serious offenders, he added. Rahul is a resident of Bajaria while Gufran , Sanjay and Akash are resident of old city area.
Details of the crime nabbed accused
were planning and involvement in other crimes in the past would be investigated. The four were produced in the court and were sent under judicial custody.
The police have registered a case under section 401 of the IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act and have started further investigation.
