Addressing Vijayadashami Samaroh organised by Nagarik Kalyan Samiti at TT Nagar Dussehra Maidan here on Friday, Governor Ram Naresh Yadav called upon people to follow path of lord Ram.
Yadav urged youths to imbibe ideals and conduct of lord Ram to progress in life cautiously. He said that this festival signifies victory of good over evil, justice over injustice and Dharma over Adharma. On the occasion, the Governor applied Tilak on the foreheads of characters essaying roles of lord Ram, Mata Sita and laxmanji. Home Minister Babulal Gaur, MP Alok
Sanjar, former MP Kailash Sarang and office-bearers of the committee were also present on the occasion.
Governor Yadav said that both lord Ram and Ravana were scholars of their time. But if a scholar loses character he becomes a demon like Ravan. Referring to incidents of harassment and atrocities on women, Governor Yadav said that celebrating Vijayadashami will not be meaningful unless we learn to safeguard and respect women.
Congratulating on Vijayadashami, Home Minister Babulal Gaur urged to follow the path shown by lord Ram and acquire good conduct. MP Alok Sanjar said that the spiritual power gained during worship of Maa Durga for last 9 days will be useful for us throughout the life.
Governor Yadav felicitated litterateurs, social workers and painters with shawls and coconuts. Nagarik Kalyan Samiti’s president delivered the welcome address. A large number of devotees of lord Ram were present on the occasion. At the end, Governor Yadav put to flame Ravan’s effigy.
