Success is surely achieved if a beneficiary gets timely guidance, motivation and is himself determined for this. This was what happened with Hari Singh Raikwar and his companions at village Naulas in Vidisha district.

Till recently, they met both ends by catching fish in nearby rivers and nullahs. But now their economic condition has improved following assistance from Fisheries Department and Janpad Panchayat.Raikwar had got registered Gaurav Fisheries Cooperative Society in year 2005. He was allotted annual lease of Puraghata irritation reservoir for 7 year for Rs. 20 thousand 550 with assistance from Fisheries Department and Janpad Panchayat. With his companions, Shri Raikwar started fish farming.

In year 2011-12, the society was provided 232 kg nylon net, insulated box and 55 thousand seeds of hybrid Katla various fish of 100 mm as subsidy under MPWSARP Scheme.  This resulted in production of 500 MT fish and profit of Rs. 2.50 lakh.Hari Singh has now constructed a pucca house using profit earned from fish farming. He is also ensuring good education to his 4 children. The society hopes to earn double profit this year.
