Finally, Govt set to recruit 50 dental surgeons

SR

The long demand by the Indian Dental Association Bhopal branch for filling the posts of Dental surgeon in the Government hospitals across the State has finally paid off as 50 posts have been floated by the State Government to fill the vacant posts of Dental Surgeons in the State.

President of the Indian Dental Association (IDA) Bhopal branch, Pratima Vajpayee said that several posts were vacant for the past 20-25 years and process of filling was stalled. The IDA has been pressing on the demands for filling the posts for the past couple of years and were provided with different excuses every time.

Numerous meeting and discussions held with the senior officials and ministers went ineffective but the follow up by the IDA Bhopal branch finally yielded success, she added.

There are 144 posts of Dental Surgeons across the State and it was predicted that around 84 seats were vacant but 50 posts were floated for filling through MPPSC.

With the increased number of dental surgeons produced by the dental colleges across the state providing employment for all surgeons is not possible but at the same time number of vacant seats with the government hospitals was their but nothing was done.

In the month of June-July things started moving fast and in the right direction and bear fruits after the vacant posts were opened.  The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan  and Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare Nariotahm Mishra were instrumental in the whole process.

More than 300 vacant posts of Dental Surgeon are still lying under NRHM and the IDA Bhopal branch is working for the opening of these posts, told Vajpayee.
