A few dancers through their innovations bring changes even in classical dance forms, but I and Preeti feel that classical forms look more beautiful in its pure form," says the classical dancer and finalist of Dance+ Piyush.
Notably, the duo of classical dance Piyush Chauhan and Preeti Sharma were here for the promotion of the dancing reality show Dance+. The duo was here in Bhopal on Thursday.
While in a candid talk with the media persons, this dynamic duo talked about their journey.
Having been conditioned towards Indian art forms from his childhood, it came as no surprise when 17 year old, Piyush Chauhan enrolled himself at the Kathak Kendra in Delhi. It was there where he met his dancing partner, Preeti Sharma.
Preeti was his senior and Piyush was quite enamored by the way she danced. When they first performed together, they were highly appreciated and since then there has been no looking back.
The duo then joined hands and have been performing across the globe including Bhopal's Bharat Bhavan.
Amongst the highly anticipated international dance forms on the show, Preeti and Piyush stand unique in being the only contestants on the show who perform an Indian classical dance style, Kathak.
Preeti-Piyush were one of the first few contestants to make it to the top 6 contestants competing for the coveted title of 'India's finest dancing star'.
"Dance + has given us the chance to showcase our talent to the dancing maestros from the industry. The concept of this show is to stay true to the dance style you excel in, but at the same time pushing the envelope at every stage to emerge as India's top contestants competing on the biggest dancing platform. Remo sir has been an inspiration for us throughout our journey on the show. Even the belief shown in us by our mentor, Shakti Mohan and her team has been phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for more", says Piyush-Preeti.
The last time Piyush and Preeti performed at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal back in 2011, the duo hadn't gotten a chance to explore the city of lakes.
"We wish to perform once again in Bhopal but this time near lake that would make our performance look larger than life," signed off the duo.
