A 19-year-old engineering student was arrested by Mahila police Bhopal after he sexually assaulted a minor girl near Mayo Institute of Medical Science (MIMS) hospital at Karond on April 20; the accused is the son of a superintendent of Jabalpur Central Jail.
According to the police the accused Tarun Prajapati sexually assaulted the victim who used to live along with her family as tenant at Tarun’s house in Karond.
SHO Woman police station Bhopal Shikha Bais said that the accused assaulted the victim after her family left the house. Father of accused is Superintendent of Jabalpur Central Jail. The accused was sent under judicial custody after he was produced in the court on Monday, she added.
In her complaint the victim stated that the accused became acquainted with her and developed friend ship later the accused offered for ride and on April 20 he took her to a secluded building near Mayo Institute of Medical Science (MIMS) hospital at Karond and sexually assaulted her and threatened her of life. She was again sexually assaulted by the accused and he continued the atrocity till April 26.
On Sunday after the victim’s mother found victim depressed she asked and victim reported the incident and later they went to lodge a complaint with the woman police.
Accused is pursuing engineering and is a second year student. His family lives in Jabalpur. Based on the complaint the police have registered a case under section 376 and 506 of IPC and section 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act.
