It seems that Indore RTO has turned a blind eye to the unfit vehicles including dumpers plying in the centre of Indore city without registration number over loaded with crushed stone.
On Friday afternoon, an overloaded dumper with crushed stone lost control on the Kesharbag road near old RTO office and rammed into the road divider. As the dumper lost control there was a situation of chaos on the Kesharbag road which is busy road of Indore and hundreds of vehicles pass on this road per minute.
Several two-wheelers cars and mini buses carrying school children had a narrow escape. When The Pioneer tried to contact Indore RTO Jitendra Singh Raghuvanshi, he didn't pick up the phone.
There are several officers posted in the Indore RTO for over five years. Even when the model code of conduct has been promulgated in view of the upcome urban bodies' elections, the officials of Indore RTO are not being shifted.
T I Annapurna Gopal Parmar told that police have not taken any action on the dumper driver, as nobody complained about it, police only take action when somebody complains. "If IMC or anybody comes and complains us, we will register a case and search the dumper driver.
It is to be noted that one month back an unfit school bus had claimed life of three people in Indore where a man and his two children riding a scooter were killed.
