In a major dacoity incident, armed goons barged into the house of a farmer located in the outskirts of Sagdod village in Deepalpur tehsil last night, unleashed terror by beating up and injuring family members and made away with valuables worth lakhs. Incident occurred between 12 am to 1 am last night when about 30-40 miscreants armed with guns and lathis barged into the house of farmer Ramesh Kewat and his two brothers located on the outskirt of Sagdod village and started beating up Ramesh and his wife while he along with his sons were sleeping outside his house due to hot temperature.
In an attempt to intimidate the family members, the miscreants also opened fire in the air. Thereafter, they snatched all the jewelleries worn by Ramesh’s wife, put the gun’s butt on her forehead, asking her to bring all the ornaments and cash kept in her house before them. Going further inside the house, the miscreants beat up other family members and made away with a cash of Rs4.5 lakh, 5 kg silver and gold ornaments weighing 250 grams.
Informing about the incident, Ramesh Kevat said that listening to gun fire, though some villagers rushed to our house to rescue us, they were stopped as dacoits’ accomplishes stopped their way. Deepalur SDOP Anil Singh Rathore said that prima facie it appeared that some acquaintances of Kewat might have a role in the incident. He said the miscreants had come in a Gama vehicle and they were apparently knowing that Kewat family had recently sold grains worth Rs4 lakh.
